 Elastik Guns:
I recently became interested in making rubber band guns for my grandkids. I started with the old standby, clothes pin
release. I had seen some with a wire trigger that would push down on the top half of the clothes pin. I built  a few of those and then decided to see if I could make one with trigger and hammer simulation. Below are a few examples:
Derringer 1, Clothes Pin,  Derringer 2, Pistol & Rifle.

Not shown here is a brad that was added
to the trigger catch to limit the counter-clock wise rotation.
For the rifle I use 2 bands hooked together.
Note that the hammer is trying to push the trigger catch straight
toward the piviot point. Wire is 14 ga. steel. When Trigger is squeezed the hammer rocks forward and the band slips off.
